HOW TO COVERT CASSAVA PEELS INTO ANIMAL FEEDS

Converting cassava peels to animal feeds is so much simple than what most people think. In fact, is as simple as processing garri itself, using almost the same materials needed for garri processing. but then, if you are currently into garri processing and wished to go into animal feeds production, using cassava peels, you cannot use the same machines for this- because of contamination. Also, if you are using automatic cassava peeling machine, you cannot process your peels into feeds. The reason is that the cassava peeling machine scrapes and leaves almost nothing for you to process.

WHAT ARE THE MACHINES NEEDED FOR CONVERSION OF CASSAVA PEELS INTO ANIMAL FEEDS

1. PULVERISING- PULVERIZER

First, peels need to be washed.

A pulverizer works as the grating machine, but the grater cannot do this job. The reason is that the grater grates and wouldn't grind, and most of the peels will slip through the grating process. However, a pulverizer will grind into the required mash, ready for the next step.

2. PRESSING- HYDRAULIC PRESSERS

Using the hydraulic pressers, the mashed peels are then pressed to relieve the waters. That is as simple as it gets.

At this stage, you can remove from the presser and feed to the livestock- pigs, goats, cows, etc

But if you want it in powdery form, you will however follow the next steps.

3. SIFTING- SIFTER

To remove the shafts, the pressed mashed of the peels are then sifted with a fine net, in order to get a fine finish.

4. DRYING- MANUAL FRYING TRAYS OR THE CABINET DRYER

After sifting, to dry, you can simply sundry. But in the raining season, you will either fry to dry, using the manual fryer, and using very low heat or use the multipurpose cabinet dryer.

5. MIXING- MIXER

For fortification, you can add vitamins and mix thoroughly, using the mixer. Then you can feed to your poultry birds.

For FISHERY, you mix with the mixer, adding all necessary additives and you can now put into the floating machines- extruders or pallettier.
